Today, Oh Lord, I pray to thee,
Help me to have soft hands,
sensitive to the pain inside,
of every needing person.

A gentle touch and a soothing smile,
to offer to each one
who searches for some comfort,
after all is said and done.

I ask these ears to listen
to the cares of every soul
and give them back a little peace,
please let this be my goal.

Please remind me daily that I must take care of me
before I tend to those I touch, may I easily
release any sadness, fear or worries
that I bring into this place.
Oh Lord, may you so guide me, and let it
show up on my face.

And, most of all, I hope and pray
I comfort those I treat
and help them leave here spirit's sprung
and far, far from defeat.
