Integrated Massage

Integrated massage, also known as eclectic massage, is a therapeutic method that combines the principles of massage and bodywork. Like other somatic disciplines, it incorporates physical, emotional, and spiritual elements. In other words, it supports a holistic mind-body approach to wellness rather than drawing on either a physiological or environmental viewpoint. Different hands-on techniques are used in integrated massage to promote physiological changes. This is achieved by primarily focusing on the fascial system, or the body’s connective tissue. As a somatic therapy, this type of massage often coincides with guided movement and other bodywork techniques to help stimulate atrophied muscles and release compressed soft tissue.

DEEP TISSUE/Trigger Point Therapy

Many people believe that deep tissue massage and/or trigger point therapy is all about relaxation and relief of tense muscles or it's just simple pampering.  Yes, it is a great way to relieve stress and soothe tight muscles, as well as related discomfort that goes along with muscle pain or cramping. But be aware that deep tissue massage focuses on the release of muscle contractions in the deeper layers of the body, while trigger point therapy focuses on the release of tension around a specific nerve center. It is a process to release tension, relieve cramped, overused muscles and eliminate toxins. A deep tissue massage combined with trigger point therapy affects the mind and spirit levels; in can release a flow of positive effects on the physiological and emotional. It strengthens mobility and improves posture. Reduces stress and mechanical stress pulses. Fixes some chronic pain problems by releasing the feeling that caused the stress and tension. Eliminates energy blocks that cause muscle stiffness in the body. Improves blood and lymph circulation, as well as organ performance. It breaks down scar tissue, allowing oxygen and blood to flow properly. When getting a deep tissue/trigger point therapy massage, if done properly, pain is generally felt that will be gone in a few days.

It will also increase blood circulation, decrease pain, helps to relax, realigns tissue, reduces tension, enhances performance, releases adhesions and overall helps strengthen muscle tissue that has started to deteriorate.  Sports massage along with Orthopedic benefit each other in similar aspects, such enhancing performance, reducing tension, decreasing pain, but it also helps with quicker recovery and prevention from injury, improved flexibility, relief from stiff joints, improved posture and body alignment and most of all improves mental stress and promotes mental relaxation.  Though these two modalities have their own benefits, together they can both get to your ultimate goal of optimum health.

Reflexology is the practice of utilizing specific thumb, finger and hand techniques and applying pressure to the feet and hands. It is a system based on zone and reflex areas that reflect the image of the body on the hands and feet, with the premise that work done on these areas will effect a physical change in the body. Because the feet and hands help set the tension level for the rest of the body, reflexology will help reduce stress by interrupting the stress signals and reset homeostasis, the body's equilibrium. It is a complement to regular medical care, but should be construed as medical advice or a replacement to medical help.
